History
Ken and Helen Erion, founders of the Johnson Publishing
family of companies, established the Erion Foundation in 1986. Helen,
the driving force in the founding of Loveland's House of Neighborly Service
and Meals on Wheels, was interested in the ongoing support of those in
need. Ken embraced a philosophy of the "indomitable human spirit"
and believed in empowering people to help themselves.
Goals
Today, the Foundation
embraces Ken and Helen's vision by supporting local and regional organizations.
Our goal is to balance our grants in general areas of "Health &
Welfare", "Basic Needs", "Education" and "Culture
& Community". The Foundation acts as catalyst to initiate and
provide funds to special projects we believe will benefit our community.
Working With The Community
We value an independent
and flexible approach; yet we realize that some goals are best accomplished
by working with others. We welcome opportunities to work with other foundations
and government entities to help the Loveland community reach its potential.
Today
A team of Erion family
members including Ken and Helen's children, Loveland community leaders
and professional financial and legal advisors assist the Foundation with
its goal of bettering the Loveland, Colorado community. Our directors
are Roger Clark, Doug Erion, Christine Klein and Jan Pierce.
